Questions Answered – Existing Bands

Firstly we would like to say thank you to all of you who left us such positive comments yesterday! We cannot tell you how much your support and understanding of our current situation is very much appreciated!

We are very sad to see that some of you feel like we are not doing enough for you, but the fact is that this is the best we can do at this time. As businesses are going bust under COVID we have moved heaven and earth to help you all by keeping the prices as low as possible (£2.81 a session) whilst also giving you credit on band sales at great expense to ourselves. You are all hugely important to us, you are our family and we want nothing more than to have you all back getting your Skinnypigs® fix. That being said, we need to make sure that we can continue to be able to deliver the classes into the future.

We have collected the most commonly asked questions from yesterday’s post and we have answered these below, hopefully they will explain the situation. If you feel your query hasn’t been covered please direct message us and we’ll respond as soon as we can.

The most important things for us in the current situation is to be able to keep delivering Skinnypigs® to our amazing customers long into the future, to try and get back to giving you the great membership offers we have in the past as quickly as possible and to make sure that we survive this and don’t leave our wonderful instructors, who have looked after you all so well, without a job or income.

What if I have existing vouchers for bands?

You can use the vouchers to redeem credits towards the new memberships in the same way you would if handing in a band.

If I have 4 sessions left on my band and can only redeem 3 credits per purchased band do I lose my 4th credit?

No you won’t lose the last class. Every class or day remaining on your band will be credited over your next purchases until fully redeemed. You can use the value of that class (£3.50) towards another 10 session band when you buy the next one.

Do I have to pay to attend a class just to hand my band in?

If you aren’t wanting to attend a pay as you go session prior to purchasing a band, we could make arrangements for a trainer to meet you 15 minutes prior to a scheduled class for you to hand your band in. We will look into this option a little more and post details of how this would work.

If I buy a new 10 or 16 session membership do I need to use them by a specific date?

We are running the bounce back offer for 2 months, just to clarify, that is 2 months you will be able to BUY the 16 session membership at £44.99. There is no end date on the usage of these sessions. They can be redeemed as and when you like.

Our intention has always been to continue with membership offers moving forward, however we can only do this if it is financially viable to do so (we have to ensure venue, instructor and other running costs are covered!). We will be reviewing our membership options using the 2 month offer as a test run.

Can I use all my credits at once instead of staggering their use?

Unfortunately we are unable to do this as we have overheads that we must pay to run the sessions (e.g. Venue and instructors). If we allowed everyone to use their full entitlement straight away we wouldn’t have enough income to cover the costs and as a result we would be unable to run any more Skinnypigs® classes that you know and love, which is why we need to stagger the use of credits.

How does the 10 session discount work?

If you have 3 sessions left on your band you will be able to buy a new 10 session membership (Usually £35) at the discounted price of £24.50. That would be 3 credits of £3.50 each.

What if my usual venue is not open yet?

We are trying to get the usual classes up and running as soon as possible but they are dependent on the venues opening dates.

You could arrange to hand in your band to one of the instructors at a class that is running nearby. If you do this you will be issued a discount code that you can use to buy a membership now – then use them against the classes when they are open – or you could choose to wait until your venue is open. If this is longer than 2 months in the future then the credits can be used against whatever memberships are being offered at the time.

Are NHS/Student/Forces discounts available?

Unfortunately we are unable to offer any further discounts at this time. By offering the 16 session membership at £44.99 each session is only £2.81 per class. We do not have any more room to offer further discounts as we would not be able to cover our costs with current government restrictions on numbers of participants.

We will review this regularly and bring them back as soon as we possibly can.

Will you be bringing bands back in the future?

Not physical bands no – we have been planning to switch to an online booking & payment system for a long time now. Having to limit class numbers due to the current climate just accelerated that process.

Can I use my Gympass membership?

Not at the moment – our priority was to get classes up and running first and we are now in discussions with Gympass to see whether or not we can continue to accept their memberships in the current climate. Again this comes down to whether it is financially viable for us to continue.
